Portland's HalfDeaf has been making music since age 4 – playing piano, guitar, composing, Djing, and producing, everything from classical & jazz to electronic production - and hasn't stop since. He has trained in jazz piano and music theory, and is self-trained in electronic production and the art of sound design. After a brief stint at medical school in 2011, he finally realized his life's passion in music and hit the ground running. Currently delving in realms of house, dubstep, future garage, and trap, HalfDeaf utilizes instruments from both digital and analog sources, thriving on the contrast between the precision of machines and the organic quality of live sound. Collaborating with musical partner in crime MyMind, HalfDeaf created a deep, dark, experimental mix exclusively featured on Earmilk in honor of the premiere blog's 100k Celebration to high acclaim. They were hand-chosen and featured alongside the likes of Tritonal and Max Cooper. HalfDeaf is gaining a presence in the Portland scene and with his emphasis on structured production time, diverse goals, and passionate dedication, the his capabilities are boundless, and the possibilities, endless.
